After releasing a plethora of fresh and challenging tracks into dance music’s collective conscious, Moguai finally bows out of 2010 with a HUGE number. And what a track to release, the pummeling, breaks-infused ‘We Want Your Soul’. For further proof of the German wizards talents, its been snapped up by Steve Angello’s SIZE records label and been given a full release – if Size really does matter, then Moguai’s huge new anthem will be the focal point of the Christmas break.

‘We Want Your Soul’ is typical Moguai fare, with “LYVE”, electrified synth rhythm’s offering a light, jumping track, before the break wades in with pulsing bass-laden stabs, vocal chops and bouncing bass, wrapped in major tonal chords, offering a pounding yet light hearted and party-fuelled banger. Coming in hard like a sledgehammer is Sebjack’s awe-inspiring, room-shaking interpretation.

Stripping back some of the high notes for more of a low key, heads-down sound, this heavy piece of weaponry is straight four-to-the-floor fodder.

Tribal, bouncy and offering the same adrenaline-fuelled rush akin to “jackin’ house”, its peak time, carnal bounce is a tune that will be fully utilized in the coming months. On the other side of the spectrum sits Thomas Gold’s reworking, taking things to a more robotic, electronic tip, fusing big room synth riffs with staunch, unweaving and dark techno beats, effortlessly straddling between hands in the air and heads down fare, utilizing the best of both previous sounds. Another great release to end the year off with a huge bang – and there’s more to come in 2011.

There could be a story about this band. But the musicians refrain from using words, legends and myths. Listen to the music playing in your head.

Their musical idea is simple, but compelling: One of the best songs of the best band in the world – as dancefloor version. A sanctuary, restored for the year 2010. Like a guerilla-rip, if you want.

The faces behind Guerilla Rips stay masks. Nothing shall disctract from the explosive power of the music. The human factor will be experienced through our ears only. Without ego trips and vanities. And without Paul-is-dead gossip.

But then, you start to research for more information on this project: From behind the studio doors, only fragments sneak through: Germany is the homebase. That suits – without their gigs as a night club band in Hamburg, even the Fab Four wouldn´t have found their unique groove. What else? One of the Guerilla Rips producers works for a British hit factory. And the two others are regulars in European clubs and international charts – as DJs and producers with millions of records sold worldwide.

“Lady Madonna“, the first release by Guerilla Rips, is part of a series of edits and bootlegs, which the producers have cut for their DJ sets. A nonconformist mixture of dance, big beat and pop, already heavily club-tested and peaktime-steeled. Listen to the music playing in your head.

At the moment Jaxon commutes between Dorsten and London, where he works with Xenomania, one of Britain’s most successful production and songwriting team (Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Pet Shop Boys, Franz Ferdinand, Kylie Minogue, Gabriella Cilmi and many more).

Two of the songs that Xenomania wrote for the new Kylie Minogue album Aphrodite have ended up as bonus tracks.

„Mighty Rivers“ will only be released on the iTunes Deluxe Experience Edition, while „Heartstring“ will be the Japanese bonus track.
